Buckeye Balls

Oh man, it has been a few weeks since posting.  Time can fly sometimes.  Over the past month there have been some fun events happening…the search and purchase of the bridesmaid dresses and my mom’s retirement from teaching (go mom!).

Searching for a bridesmaid dress is an interesting and overwhelming experience…so many colors, styles, and fabrics to choose from.  Ann, being the great sister she is, pretty much gave me full reign to pick whatever I wanted.

She just wanted me (and the other bridesmaids) to feel comfortable.  On one hand that is awesome and on the other, I realized how hard it was to choose.  But, I think we found a great one at Bella Bridesmaid and I am very excited to wear it on 10.12.13.

Additionally, my mom decided to retire from teaching this year…a huge moment!  There were a few events being thrown for her and the other ladies retiring, so I went down to Atlanta to visit for the retirement party.  It was so much fun to see my mom, the teachers she works with, and even some of the mom’s of kids she has taught through the years.  It was really amazing at how many people came up to me personally to tell me how amazing my mom is and what an impact she has had in their lives and their kids’ lives.  It truly made me proud of her.  Now, usually Ann and I are the ones that end up wearing similar outfits (given that we shop at the same places), but this time, Michael and I arrived wearing similar looking outfits…I guess the Klindt kids like their pink/salmon colored shirts.

 Ingredients:
1 Stick Butter
1 lbs Powder Sugar
1.5 Cups Peanut Butter
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Package (12 oz) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 Bar Para Wax

Directions:

Mix butter, sugar, peanut butter and vanilla.  Mix into bite size balls and chill on wax paper.  Melt chocolate chips with wax in sauce pan.  Using a toothpick, dip balls in chocolate leaving small area at the top plain.  Cool on wax paper.
